About Axel
History is fascinating and I believe every student should have the opportunity to get the most out of it. Through teaching, I hope to make the study of History not only manageable, but richly rewarding, enjoyable and useful in your future development.
For me, teaching is a wonderful way to bolster my own historical knowledge, and to learn from my students. I love meeting new people and helping them on their journey as historians.

I offer a bespoke learning plan for A-Level and GCSE History students, focusing heavily on past paper revision, developing planning techniques to maximise your time in exams, and building your confidence in evaluation and argument.
I have a Master's Degree in History focusing mainly on modern European history in a global context, and I have tutored across AQA, Edexcel and WJEC, with additional experience with OCR and Cambridge IGCSE. I offer something of a 'triage' service where I diagnose the missing pieces in technique in order to help students boost their grades, and offer technical advice to thrive under exam pressure.
For students entering higher education, I can also provide advice on how to prepare yourself for a university career, offering guidelines for revision and research, as well as developing arguments within a historiographical framework.
