About Joseph
I have just finished doing a history degree at UCL, for which I received a First. I also received 3 A*s at A-level and 9s in English Literature, History and Religious Studies at GCSE. So academia is still fresh in my mind. I can relate to your struggles...believe me!
One of the most fulfilling experiences I have had is seeing the light bulb go on in someone's head when they understand how to do something.
At college, I helped people in my course to understand the content if they were struggling and also acted as a proofreader for essays and university personal statements.
I am calm, approachable and friendly...the best lessons are the ones where you feel relaxed.
At the end of our tutoring journey, I aim to have raised your grades and elevated your confidence... grades are on paper; confidence lasts forever. I look forward to working with you!

My approach begins with asking questions to gauge your understanding of the content. Secondly, I will ask to see examples of your writing and how you structure ideas. This helps me understand you both as a student and also as a person. Then we will begin working on practice questions and drafting answers.
(For history students who are perhaps working on coursework, etc., then I can also offer tips on how to research effectively.)
These lessons typically last an hour, although I am happy to take them longer if you feel you need it.
I am most proficient with GCSE and A-Level content, but am happy to talk about university as well if you are applying.
