About Anthony
Hi, my name is Anthony. I live in Vaucluse, Sydney. I am an Oxford University graduate and a teacher / tutor with 30 years' experience in teaching and tutoring English, German, French, Russian and Spanish. I am also a beginning filmmaker and have recently received 3 awards (Best Student Film) for a short film drama. I believe I have a lively and inspiring manner when teaching or communicating about the subjects where I have the greatest commitment and passion, based on a love of languages, literature, theater and film. I like to think that patience and the ability to listen intently to a pupil's approach and register their efforts are the key to ultimate success, and make the tutoring / teaching process itself a source of lasting enjoyment and fulfillment.

My language teaching / tutoring technique places great emphasis on balancing the traditional skills in language learning: a thorough study of grammatical structures to ensure that spoken and written communication is always correct; constant practicing of vocabulary and phraseology; reading comprehension; conversation practice; listening comprehension; practice in writing the foreign language, starting with brief compositions and graduating to essay writing in the foreign language; translation from and to the pupil's native language. I can also consider tutoring pupils whose native language is not English as I am professionally fluent in 8 languages.
I generally limit the length of lessons to 1 - 1.5 hours per session.
I have 30 years experience as a teacher, tutor and translator. I am willing to tutor all levels from beginner to advanced, and all ages from junior school up to graduates and beyond.
