About Ariane
I live in Northern Indiana, United States. For the past two years, I have been attending Indiana University South Bend as an Honors-level Elementary Education major. I have spent some sixty hours in classroom work, assisting children with their learning and developing my own skill set.

I loved my senior year AP English class and have developed a literature course following a similar format. Books in this class are geared towards 4th-8th grades, although older students and curious adults are always welcome. We typically read one book independently each week (longer works may be given more time) and discuss it together in weekly Zoom meetings. There will be quizzes on book content, vocabulary, and so on.
While I have done my best to develop an age-appropriate and diverse curriculum, I acknowledge that some materials may be of concern for younger readers. Parents are strongly encouraged to research assigned readings and monitor as they see fit.
At the end of this course, students will be able to:
Refer to details and examples in a text when explaining what a text says explicitly and when drawing inferences from the text.
Describe a character, setting, or event in a story or play, drawing on specific details in the text, and how that impacts the plot.
Apply context clues and text features to determine the meanings of unknown words.
