About Priya
I am a pre-law double major who has been tutoring students of all ages for over 4 years. I specialize in Math but am also experienced in teaching English and Science to not only young children but high school students as well. I have won many scholarships and awards including the Governor-General Award for graduating with the highest GPA from my high school and the Gordon Lowther Scholarship for having the highest GPA of any first-year student in an Honours Social Science program at York University.

My teaching methodology involves developing a personalized education plan to suit the individual learning styles of each of my students as opposed to a general system because I understand that each student learns differently.
I have a passion for working with youth of all backgrounds and cultures as not only a tutor but mentor. I believe in utilizing positive reinforcement and openly communicating with my students to build rapport and understand their learning needs. My 4 years of experience as a tutor employed by tutoring agencies and as a private tutor have provided me with the patience and commitment required to build students' confidence and guide them to success.
I am flexible to teach various subjects in a single session based on the needs of the student and any approaching deadlines they may have for school assignments and tests. I assist students in reaching various goals such as strengthening foundations from previous years to achieve grade-level proficiency, mastering grade-level material to achieve stellar grades in the current academic year, or even learning and excelling in material that is beyond the grade-level.

Priya is an amazing tutor. She has been my sons physics, biology, and chemistry tutor since 2019 (he was grade 11 at the time) and I genuinely think that if it wasn’t for her, my son would not be the smart man he is today. Priya boosted his self esteem and his confidence in his own work since day one. Priya is a wizard when it comes to tutoring and I could not recommend a tutor better than her.
Really patient and helped grow confidence and reliable
We are positively thrilled with Priya. She and Jasmine connect really well and she knows exactly how to teach her in a way that truly gets through. Sessions have been wonderful! Priya is a perfect fit for Jasmine and she really enjoys connecting with her. Priya has been tutoring her in grade 7 math and english since September 2019 and we can’t wait for what’s to come. :)
Priya is really one of a kind when it comes to tutors! She’s patient and understanding towards her students, and she helped my daughter so much with creating a foundation for calculus. Priya has been tutoring my daughter since September of 2020 and has aided in her being successful in pre-calculus. I highly recommend this tutor for high school math!
She is currently teaching my son grade 11 Mathematics and English. He is getting 90s in all his courses and always looks forward to tutoring. Priya not only teaches but becomes their friend and forms a connection rather than the past tutors. Keep up the great work Priya.
