About Ray

I'm Ray, a University of Sydney student with an ATAR of 98.85. In the HSC I achieved Band 6 in English Advanced, Chemistry and Business Studies, and finished top 10 in my cohort in five subjects.
I tutor Physics with a focus on building real conceptual understanding alongside strong mathematical technique. Too many students memorize formulas without understanding what they mean — I make sure you know both, so you can handle any question the exam throws at you.

About the lesson

Lessons follow the NSW Physics syllabus across all eight modules for Years 11 and 12:
Module 1 — Kinematics (motion, velocity, acceleration)
Module 2 — Dynamics (forces, Newton's laws, friction, momentum)
Module 3 — Waves and Thermodynamics (wave behavior, sound, thermodynamics)
Module 4 — Electricity and Magnetism (electric fields, circuits, magnetism)
Module 5 — Advanced Mechanics (projectile motion, circular motion, gravitational fields)
Module 6 — Electromagnetism (electromagnetic induction, motors, transformers)
Module 7 — The Nature of Light (wave model, quantum model, special relativity)
Module 8 — From the Universe to the Atom (astrophysics, quantum theory, nuclear physics)
Each session targets your current school topic or upcoming assessment. I work through theory, mathematical derivations, and past HSC questions to build both understanding and exam technique. Written feedback is provided on extended response questions. Lessons run 1–2 hours online or in-person, and students are welcome to bring their own material.

Most students book 2-hour sessions, which gives the best value and the deepest progress in a single sitting.

Details

Cancellation and make-up policy
• 24 hours' notice or more: free reschedule into another available slot.
• Less than 24 hours' notice: 50% of the session fee. Less than 4 hours' notice, or a no-show: 100%.
• No-show: the student is not present within 15 minutes of the start time with no notice. The session still ends at its scheduled time.
• Emergency waiver: one late cancellation per term is waived for a genuine emergency, with reasonable supporting evidence on request, such as a medical certificate for illness.
• Missed or late-cancelled sessions are charged as above and are not made up. Any outstanding fee is paid before the next session is booked. The emergency waiver is the only exception.
• If I cancel, or technology fails on either side: a free make-up session.
• This policy does not limit your rights under the Australian Consumer Law.
