About Hussein

Hi! My name is Hussein, a Medical Student at the University of Cambridge. I achieved 3 A*s at A-level and 11 9's at GCSE and I have 5 years of private tutoring experience with students, from the ages of 10 to 18 years, in Maths, Chemistry, Biology, Physics and English. My hobbies include basketball, football and weight lifting. I want to teach as I enjoy helping students progress and increase in confidence. I find teaching an especially rewarding process and I believe teaching is extremely important and is used in a variety of careers from Teachers themselves to Doctors and also Engineers, etc.

About the lesson

When teaching, I like to first set objectives of what the students look to achieve from the session. I then introduce them to the subject from a broad perspective and test their current understanding before thoroughly covering the gaps in their knowledge. Afterwards, I work closely with them through worksheets and exam questions to consolidate the information and aid them in the application of it. Alongside my 5 years of private tutoring experience, I have also previously run a medicine club where I worked with large groups of students to provide them with an insight into medicine through presentations and live dissections. Additionally, I worked closely with them on a one-to-one basis where I explained complex topics in simpler ways they found more relatable. My lessons are usually 1-2 hours long and I teach students from the ages of 10-18 at KS2, GCSE and A level.

Hussein is an extremely good tutor. He is able to break down complicated ideas so that they are very easy to understand. He also uses well made resources and understands how his students' learn best. Hussein also provides really good exam question walkthroughs- explaining both the content needed but also the Mark Scheme requirements which definitely helps to boost my grades!
