About David
I started in classical piano before changing my focus to voice. As time went by and I began exploring other genres, I had to learn how to improvise in many styles. I accompany my students in many genres and have been lucky to jam on the keys with some fine musicians, something I couldn't do before. Some of my pop students don't have scores, so I learn the songs from recordings, often at their lessons.

We'll get you over the fear of improvising through a series of exercises starting with picking out a melody by ear and making it your own version by exploring chord progressions and bass lines. We'll learn new songs from lead sheets and in a short time, you'll be able to jam and arrange on-the-fly. We'll do some exercises where we'll sing and figure out the song as we go.
