About Blake
I am an internationally performed composer, educator, and artist-activist with a passion for innovative music and the betterment of society through music. I have collaborated with acclaimed groups including Transient Canvas, the Texas New Music Ensemble, the Furman Symphonic Band, and Unheard-of//Ensemble. My music has been featured at the Texas New Music Festival, New Music Gathering, and the Alba Music Festival. My work is showcased on the albums CCI//Sessions, Vol. 5 (2023) and Unmeasured Light (2024).
I hold degrees from Furman University and Stephen F Austin State University. I have received awards and grants including the Midwest Clinic GenNEXT Scholarship and the Harry B Shucker Outstanding Leader Award. My full catalogue includes a broad range of music, encompassing works for band, jazz ensembles, Pierrot ensemble, woodwind quintet, percussion ensemble, and solo repertoire. My music is a place of radical acceptance, and he is dedicated to activism and leadership through music.
