About Serena

More than 3 years experience teaching italian as a foreign language
I obtained a PhD and 3 Master's degree in Humanities
Qualified to teach Italian: Master's Degree in Italian Language and Literature
I grew up in Italy and moved to many other countries. I speak English and Spanish
My courses are especially addressed to Spanish speaking students

About the lesson

- I always plan customised classes
- I carefully prepare the didactic materials
- I monitor the progress in order to better adapt the method to my students
- I usually vary the activities making use of different tools (e.g. audios, videos, readings, games) depending on the personality of the students (temperament, education, expectations, etc.), their weaknesses and the aims of teaching.
- I would say that my teaching style is matched to students’ learning styles. Nevertheless, I often focus on interaction (e.g. game-based learning, discussions)
In general, I can define my teaching style as learner-centred.
