About Gillian
Hi! My name is Gillian, and I am a senior at Yale University studying molecular biology and anthropology. I plan to attend medical school upon my graduation. Prior to college, I decided to begin tutoring because I recognized how beneficial hands-on, individualized, and encouraging instruction could be for students. Throughout middle school, high school, and college, I have strived to deliver quality instruction in a variety of topics in order to diminish gaps in knowledge that may accumulate as a result of classroom instruction alone. I love teaching, and I know that you will gain great confidence in your abilities with some individualized instruction. I recognize that an engaging instructor is key to my own success in academics and know that this translates to other students' experiences as well. I hope to provide this type of instruction to you!

I have previously tutored students of all ages (elementary school through college) and enjoy working with students in all stages of life and academics. I have specialized in math, the sciences (mainly biology, biochemistry, and chemistry), and English (including writing and grammar). But, I have also tutored Latin and have helped younger students with general homework instruction. I have a long track record of improving students' grades, knowledge base, and confidence in these subjects. I hope that my personalized instruction can be beneficial to you as I work one-on-one with a variety of instructional techniques and resources.
I will typically use visual aids and teach content in addition to helping students understand and complete homework. I also create review questions and guide students in studying for exams.
