About Emily
I am a journalist from London but currently based in Spain. I gained a first class honours degree from the University of Manchester and now I have over 9 years experience in the workplace as an english native. I have primarily worked for the BBC making current affairs documentaries. Last year I taught English for several months in a language school in Colombia, covering hundreds of students, aged between 4 and 60 years old across classes of all sizes.

I believe that teaching methods should be tailored to each individual student; as such I like to get to know each student's learning style and goals well before making a specialised plan for them. For example if you learn better through audio visuals, we might learn more often through videos; listening and watching, or playing games. I have a positive teaching style; whilst I am precise and like to see improvement, I tend to avoid over- criticism and instead opt for building confidence through encouragement, thus making learning fun as well as productive.
