About Shiver
I am a KCL Economics Master's grad currently working full-time.
Why am I here? Honestly, London's rent is skyrocketing and I've decided to turn my passion for my mother tongue into a way to survive the city!
I bring a wealth of diverse teaching experience from Shanghai and Beijing, but my most rewarding year was spent as a volunteer teacher in a Bali primary school. (PS: If I could guide a 7-year-old through their first Mandarin words, I can definitely help you! )
Having travelled to over 30 Chinese cities (including Chongqing and Hong Kong), I don't just teach the language-l bring the vibrant culture and regional flavours of China to our lessons
Beyond the economic reasons, I am truly driven by the "Aha!" moment when a student masters a difficult tone or character.
I believe in the proverb: "Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day; teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime”
