About Joan
I have been giving private lessons and assistance in English as a foreign language for over a year, including helping prepare business-people for giving presentations in English, etc. As a language learner myself, I have a very good understanding of grammar, learning methods, and what is needed in order to succeed in language learning.

As a language learner myself who has previously struggled with confidence issues in a foreign language, I understand what is required in order to succeed with language learning and so I aim to provide a safe, informal and relaxed environment in my classes, where students can learn with as little stress as possible. I believe practice is the best way to learn, so the focus will be on using the language for communication - although grammar is important and will also be a priority in classes, the first step is to get over your fear and start speaking.

Joan takes time to explain things until you fully understand and never judges you when you make mistakes. She is motivated to share her knowledge with her students and her enthusiasm is contagious!
Joan is a really reliable, very friendly and super approachable tutor. She is so patient and great at explaining concepts and ideas as well as grammar rules and points.
There are no stupid questions when you’re being tutored by Joan. I would recommend her to any prospective students!View more recommendations
