About Emma
I currently am a Lead Kindergarten Teacher at Success Academy charter schools. I was promoted from an Associate Teacher to Lead within just a couple months of starting; I fell in love with role and was able to flourish in it with the help of some amazing mentors. I am passionate about teaching and feel so fulfilled when I am able to bridge that gap in my current students. Growing up, I developed close connections with my teachers, and understand how vital and pivotal a good teacher can be in certain students' lives. Before beginning teaching, I tutored throughout middle and high school, so I am very familiar with the role, and have experience in closing academic gaps within a short amount of time. My professional experience, but more importantly my passion for teaching, makes me a perfect fit for this role.

As a current elementary teacher, I create my lesson plans for the week every Sunday. That way, I am prepared to teach every lesson with a clear goal for each. A typical lesson plan usually includes a generalized launch, a mind movie to help visualize the current problem, guided questions for the students, and teacher or peer modeling of the expectations for the classwork. I also end every lesson showing a few examples of student work that met the classwork expectations at a high standard. Being a current Lead Kindergarten Teacher, as well as a tutor for 6+ years, I am well experienced in closing academic gaps. It brings me so much joy when I am able to see that "click" in my current students. I would feel comfortable teaching at any age, but have the most experience working with elementary students
