About Amir

Hello future math enthusiasts! I'm here to share my personal journey with math, a journey that took me from rock bottom to a place of confidence and mastery. In 7th grade, I was sure that math came naturally to me. I was confident, maybe a bit too confident, and I believed that I didn't need to study. My first big math test of the year was a wake-up call: I scored a mere 24.3%. That was a hard lesson. I realized that I had been egocentric and lazy, assuming that my previous successes meant I didn't need to put in the effort. It was a humbling experience, but it was also the turning point I needed. I understood then that mastery of any subject, especially math, requires dedication, consistent effort, and the right habits. From that moment on, I committed to changing my approach. I spent countless hours studying, practicing problems, and developing better study habits. Over time, I saw my hard work pay off. My grades improved, my confidence grew, and I eventually developed a genuine love for math. The reason I'm sharing this story with you is simple: I want you to know that no matter where you start, improvement is always possible. You're already ahead of where I was because you’re here, seeking help and striving to improve. That's the first and most important step. I’m here to help you build a strong foundation in math, develop good study habits, and inspire confidence in your abilities. Remember, math is a skill that anyone can master with the right mindset and effort. I believe in you and am excited to help you on your journey to success. Let’s conquer math together! Amir

In my math journey, around the ages of 13 and 14, I always wondered if there was someone who would be able to guide me through my mathematical journey while also being relatable in the sense that they're on the same path as me. I can give you that now; while still going through my high school career, I am determined to give you any tips and tricks and general knowledge in math that made me waste time when I was in your shoes. These lessons are for 7th, 8th, 9th, and 10th graders taking any Arithmetic, Algebra, Geometry, or Trigonometric courses. By the end of each lesson, students will be able to: - Identify mathematical processes properly and when to use each - Be able to understand and explain the mathematical property in focus fully - Solve complex problems using the mathematical process Materials Needed: Writing Utensil/Electronic Pencil An Electronic Device (if going to write on paper, preferably a device with a camera) A good night's sleep :) Lesson outlines will be as follows: Greeting and Warmup: Problems reviewing what we've previously learned or new ideas I want you to try on your own Presentation: A lesson on how to do a mathematical idea, its origin, and its use cases Guided Practices: We will work together through some problems using the mathematical idea learned to give you the hang of it. Independent Practice: A little time for the student to use their thinking on the idea through given problems. Review: Finish the lesson and do one final review while talking about the next lesson's homework. Homework Options: I will assign one of the following for the student to do outside of class for around 30 minutes. 1. Practice Sheet-- a sheet of problems with the mathematical idea we talked about in class 2. Textbook problems, similar to the practice sheets, with work for the student to do 3. The student must find a real-life example of the property and be prepared to explain it in the next lesson (1 Per Unit) Hope to see you soon, have a fun time learning!
