I want to be a teacher
Inspire the next generation of chemical scientists through teaching
Teaching chemistry is an exciting, challenging and hugely rewarding career. There is no “typical” chemistry teacher – recent graduates as well as career changers from across the chemical sciences all make excellent teachers. All teachers should be passionate about their subject, great communicators and be able inspire the next generation of scientists.
There are plenty of benefits to becoming a teacher, such as:
the chance to make a real difference to children and young people
an opportunity to use your passion for your subject to inspire young people
having a challenging and rewarding career
prospects for progression into a wide range of management roles, such as managing a year group, subject or key stage.

Chemistry is the study of matter. You will learn that everything comes down to the arrangement of individual atoms and their nearest neighbors. The resulting properties have a huge impact in our macroscopic world and this is what fascinates me. For instance, water or H2O is triangular with polar regions. The environment surrounding oxygen being negative and that surrounding hydrogen being positive. This polarity drives intermolecular forces, i.e. electronegative forces between water molecules, which is actually makes ice less dense than liquid water. Thus, floating glaciers are possible and life on Earth is possible.
As you progress in Chemistry, you will learn more about equilibrium and kinetics so instead of just studying the properties of matter and atomic structure, now you study how chemical reactions progress. I think equilibrium and kinetics principles, which are very Math and Physics heavy, are also freaking awesome because somehow we are able to use macroscopic data to understand the aggregate behavior of a large group of atoms
