About Shelley
I am from the United States and live in the Netherlands (Holland). Before moving to NL, I also lived in France! In the USA I earned a Masters of Teaching and then started teaching English online, which has allowed me to meet people from all over the world.
Students describe me as fun, empathetic, knowledgeable, and entertaining. They also say I explain concepts well by using examples and asking questions.
When I'm not working, I enjoy playing Nintendo games, embroidering, rock climbing, and baking.

I earned a Masters of Teaching degree and then a TEFL certification. I've been teaching English to teenage and adult language learners since 2015 students describe me as supportive, responsive, and empathetic. Students receive customized lessons on topics which are interesting for them.
Each class is customized for the student depending on their interests and what they need to improve. My classes focus on grammar, vocabulary, and other subjects depending on the students' goals. Classes allow students to speak and use the language effectively. I can give homework and we can discuss answers in our next class if you'd like.
I teach lessons completely in English. I can understand C1 Dutch but students should expect the class to be completely in English.
Classes are best for teenagers and adults (level B1 and above). I teach the following subjects:

* Academic English
* IELTS, TOEFL, DET Preparation
* General English
* Conversation Practice

Hands down, Shelley is a superprof.
Let me briefly explain why I decided this journey to learn English. First, I always be in love for English language. Second, I had a very clear purpose, have the experience to live in another country and continue my career as veterinarian.
I met Shelley in September 2016. She was the only English teacher among all teachers to make notes after each lessons, so thats why I chose her to be my "English mentor". Her thorough notes were beyond than learning from my mistakes, engaged me to expand my vocabulary. After finishing my english course in 2017, I continued booking private lesions.
After 6 years, Shelley still is my English teacher. I have to say that I became a English speaker because of her. I moved to Canada in 2018 and got my license as veterinarian in 2021. I will always be grateful for Shelley to help and guide me to be a better communicator. Thank you Shelley!Shelly is super-friendly and committed!
