Hello, I’m Merve.
I completed my PhD at the University of Oxford, where I currently work as an academic. I have teaching experience in the Genomic Medicine Master’s programme at Oxford, and throughout my academic journey, I have also provided one-to-one English lessons to individual learners.
My teaching approach is personalised and focused on each student’s goals, level, and learning style. I help students improve their everyday English, academic English, professional communication skills, and IELTS preparation. My aim is not only to teach English, but also to help students build confidence and use the language effectively in real-life situations.
Lessons are typically 60 minutes long and are designed around the student’s specific needs. For IELTS students, I focus on exam strategies, practical techniques, and targeted improvement to help achieve their desired score. For general English learners, I focus on developing fluency, vocabulary, pronunciation, and natural communication skills.
My lessons are suitable for adults, university students, and professionals at different levels who want to improve their English for personal, academic, or career goals. Together, we can create an enjoyable and effective learning journey at your own pace.
