About Harmanmeet
Hi! I’m Harman, a History and Philosophy tutor from India with a genuine passion for understanding the world through history, ideas, people and different cultures.
I believe learning should go beyond memorizing dates and definitions. History becomes much more interesting when we understand the people behind the events, the decisions they made and the reasons why societies changed. Similarly, Philosophy can help us become more curious, thoughtful and confident in expressing their own ideas.
My teaching style is friendly, conversational and story-driven. I encourage students to ask questions, share their opinions and think critically rather than simply trying to find the “right answer.”

Techniques
I believe we learn best when we are encouraged to ask questions, explore ideas and understand the “why” behind things, rather than simply memorizing facts.
My History classes are built around stories, interesting historical events, personalities, cultures and real-world connections. Philosophy is taught through simple questions, discussions and everyday situations so that all can understand big ideas without feeling overwhelmed by difficult terminology.
I use a combination of storytelling, visual examples, questioning, discussion, short activities and interactive conversations. My aim is to make every class something the student looks forward to, while also developing curiosity, independent thinking and critical reasoning.
Structure
* A short introduction or interesting question to spark curiosity
* Storytelling and explanation of the main topic
* Questions and discussion throughout the lesson
* Interesting examples, historical characters or real-life situations
* A short activity or thought experiment
* A recap of what we learned
* A final question for the student to think about after the class
Special feature
My teaching style is conversational, story-based and question-driven. I don’t want students to simply remember what happened in history; I want them to understand why it happened, how people thought, and what we can learn from it today.
In Philosophy, I encourage students to form their own opinions and explain their reasoning, rather than simply giving them the “correct” answer.
My goal is to create a relaxed environment where students feel comfortable saying, “But why?”, challenging an idea and thinking differently.
