About Mariana

Hello and welcome! My name is Mariana, but you can call me Mari =). Teaching English is my main job, and I have over 10 years of experience as a private tutor. My goal is to teach you how to truly communicate in English—listening, speaking, writing, reading, interpreting, debating, and much more.
Curious about why I started teaching?
Believe it or not, I used to hate English, Portuguese, and grammar. (Haha xD)
I was terrible at school until one day, I received an English course as a gift and decided to give it a try. My teacher’s charisma and attention, along with the opportunities English brought me (culture, education, communication...), completely changed my perspective. Today, I’m passionate about the language!
I started teaching as a side job, but as I realized how many people faced the same struggles I once had, I decided to make it my profession.

Usually, the material I use at the beginning was developed by me and serves as the foundation for the lessons. However, since the classes are personalized, we can choose other materials that better suit your needs. Additionally, I continuously adjust the content based on your needs, preferences, and interests.
It’s important to note that timelines are tailored to you. Someone with greater dedication might achieve their goals and complete their learning in less than a year. My goal is not to retain students but to ensure that you genuinely learn. Your experience and progress help me continuously improve as a teacher.
