About Carlos
Hi, I'm Carlos, and today we're going to work through some math together. I know you can all do this, and I’m here to help every step of the way. This might seem tricky at first, but I’ll walk you through it. First, let’s look at how addition works using something you can easily visualize.

Simple Approach to Teaching Math
1. Start with a Real-Life Example
Begin by showing how the math concept is used in everyday life. This grabs attention and makes learning meaningful.
Example: "If you have 3 apples and get 2 more, how many do you have in total?"
2. Use Visuals or Objects
Show the concept using pictures, drawings, or physical objects like coins, blocks, or even fingers.
Example: Stack 3 blocks, then add 2 more to show addition.
3. Explain the Math Idea Clearly
Give a simple explanation using everyday language.
Example: "Addition means putting things together."
4. Let Students Try It Themselves
Give a few easy practice problems to solve. Offer help if needed.
Example: "Try adding 4 and 3. Use your fingers or draw it if you like!"
5. Practice a Bit More, Then Review
Repeat similar problems to build confidence, and review at the end to check understanding.
Example: "Let’s go over what we learned: adding means putting numbers together."
