About Aya
Hi! I'm Aya, from Nagano, Japan ️ I mainly work with students who want to travel to Japan and connect with people using real, natural Japanese. I focus on helping you build a habit of studying a little every day, which I believe is the key to real progress (it's how I learned English myself!). Before teaching, I worked in the hospitality industry for over 5 years, so I know how meaningful it is to communicate across cultures. I'm currently traveling around Southeast Asia, which has only deepened my love for language as a tool for connection🫱🏻🫲🏾 Do you want to speak Japanese before your next trip — or did you come back wishing you had? I teach by watching, not by script. Every student is different, so I pay close attention to where you're strong and where you get stuck and adjust the lesson as we go. Real Japanese, not just textbook Japanese. Before teaching, I spent 5+ years in hospitality. That means I can teach the keigo and phrases people actually use at work, while traveling, or in daily life. ️ Speaking first, perfection later. I studied English for years before I could actually speak it, so I know that frozen, translating-in-your-head feeling. My lessons are built to get you talking, not just quizzing you on grammar.
