About Sherry

Hi, I’m Sherry! I grew up in Honduras, where Spanish is my native language, before moving to the United States for university and starting my professional career there. Six years ago, I moved to London, which I now call home.

Having lived in different countries, I’ve developed a real love for languages, travel and experiencing new cultures. While at university, I studied Mandarin for four years and also spent three months living in Shanghai, so I understand first-hand what it feels like to learn another language and build the confidence to actually speak it.

I currently work professionally in London, and tutoring is something I want to do not simply as a job, but because I genuinely enjoy meeting people from different backgrounds and would love the opportunity to share my language and culture with others.

My goal is to create a friendly, relaxed environment where you can practise Spanish without worrying about making mistakes, ask questions and gradually become more confident expressing yourself naturally.

About the lesson

Hi, I’m Sherry! I’m a native Spanish speaker raised in Honduras, offering personalised lessons for beginner and intermediate learners.

My approach focuses on practical Spanish through conversation, pronunciation, vocabulary and everyday situations. I’ll encourage you to speak as much as possible, make mistakes without worrying about them, and gradually build your confidence.

As a native speaker, I can also introduce you to regional differences in Spanish, such as voseo (vos), commonly used in Honduras and Argentina, tú and usted, and the vosotros form used in Spain. This can help you understand different Spanish-speaking cultures and communicate more naturally with people from different countries.

Lessons are typically 60 minutes and adapted to your level, interests and reasons for learning Spanish. Although I’m new to professional tutoring, I bring native fluency, cultural knowledge and a genuine enthusiasm for helping others learn my language.
