About Anvi
Anvi Prabhu started her training in the South Indian Classical dance form of Bharatanatyam (Tanjore Bani) at the age of 6, she went on to perform, travel and teach extensively for over 25 years. Her first lead role in the dance ballet 'Vasavi Vaibhava' at age 16 proved a major turning point, and it launched her dance career. She continued to perform extensively with her Guru across India and was part of the team invited for an Indo - Chinese cultural exchange programme in China. After her critically acclaimed debut as a soloist in 2008, she went on to be featured in several National and International dance festivals across India, USA, UK, China, and Bhutan, winning rave reviews among critics and connoisseurs. As a creative dancer she is heavily influenced by the nuances and aesthetics of Classical ballet in which she has trained intensively with Yana Lewis (Bangalore) and Royal Academy of Dance (London); and her solo choreographic works and productions reflected this approach. She is particularly recognized for her unique quality of movement, subtle evocative emotive abilities, grace and rhythmic command. She is an A - Grade artist of Doordarshan and has won awards including 'Natya Sri', 'Nrithya Jyothi', and the National award of 'Nrithya Bhushana'.

ABOUT THE TEACHER: Vidushi Anvi Prabhu comes with over 25 years of experience as a Bharatanatyam performer, teacher and choreographer. She is also trained in Kathak (4 years) and Classical Ballet (over 5 years), and brings her knowledge of body conditioning, flexibility, and movement aesthetics to her classes.
CLASSES: - All lessons are 1 hour.
- Starting from the beginners level, my lessons inculcate attention to detail and knowledge, inculcating creativity and technique.
- All students have the opportunity to progress to higher levels of learning and to avail in-person classes.
- Intermediate and advanced students will have their classes tailored to their individual goals. Whether it is perfection of a particular dance piece; fine-tuning your abhinaya; or working on choreography and adding to your performance repertoire - Whatever your goal, we will work together to achieve it. Anvi also offers in-person individual sessions.
