About Isabella
I am a recent Durham University graduate, with a first-class degree in Law. I have secured a training contract with a law firm called Slaughter and May for March 2023, and I want to tutor part-time alongside my job as a paralegal to make some extra money until then.
I want to tutor Spanish in particular because I kept this up during university by doing Spanish language modules alongside my law studies. Now that I have graduated from university, teaching Spanish would allow me to keep up with the language whilst helping others to learn.
I know I enjoy teaching from my experience doing a Teaching English as a Foreign Language (TEFL) certificate. I gained a distinction in this by being enthusiastic and caring with my pupils, particularly during 1:1 lessons. I was commended for my skill in tailoring lessons to the needs of particular students, as well as for making my lessons engaging and fun. A board game I created for learning prepositions (from, over, etc.) was adopted by the language school for future teaching.
I am really hoping to establish long-term relationships with my pupils, and look forward to watching them develop in their Spanish speaking.

Lessons for beginners to those studying for A-level (equivalent to DELE Level C1). Enthusiastic to teach any age, from those studying at primary school to those looking to pick up a new language skill as an adult.
Pre-prepared lesson plans tailored to you after an initial half hour virtual meeting to gauge your level and needs. Looking for long-term pupils who I can develop a nice working relationship with.
Length of lesson varies from 45mins to 1hr30mins depending on age and stage of pupil. Vocab recaps for the first 15 minutes, grammar/literature/news articles/listening/speaking/essay-writing for the main body of the lesson, new vocab in the last 10 minutes.
Previous experience as an English tutor to non-English speaking pupils in Hong Kong. Received a distinction in my Teaching English as a Foreign Language (TEFL) certificate. This course involved 20 hours of lesson teaching, experience in lesson planning, an essay on my experience with a 1:1 student and an exam.
Previous experience helping younger students with their Spanish homework at school. Taught pupils (13 - 15 years old) in my boarding house 1:1 Spanish help on the weekends.
