About Edward
- About me
Hi! I am a 1st year MSci Mathematics student at the University of Bristol. Having recently sat A-Levels, I achieved 97% in Mathematics and 88% in Physics, both of which were A* grades. Because I tackled these papers recently, I have a fresh understanding of the way the papers are marked and what the examiners are most looking for. I also have a strong intuitive understanding of both subjects, which helps me explain the more challenging concepts in a clear manner. I have one year of experience tutoring GCSE students informally, and I am now continuing this professionally.

- Teaching methodology
I teach by breaking problems down into parts, which I then explain to help students gain a deep understanding of the topic. For written questions, I then focus on helping students express the correct answers on the paper in the style that the examiners are looking for. I find that when students get an intuitive understanding of a topic, it becomes far easier to pick up marks that previously seemed very strict or obscure, especially in longer written questions.
This methodology makes for highly interactive lessons and chance for much discussion, which is a far more effective way of learning than simple explanations followed by questions out of a book.
My lessons start from one hour, and can be for however long is needed!
