About Hannah
I am a student at the University of Bath studying Accounting and Finance and doing my placement year in London. After finishing A-Levels, I did a placement year at IBM Consulting before going to university. I achieved 3A*s in A-Level Maths, Economics and Geography, and an A* in my EPQ. I am half Japanese and half British, having lived in Japan, Singapore, and England as I was growing up. My multicultural background has strengthened my ability to connect with people across all backgrounds and build strong relationships. I am a fun, caring and diligent person who can bring the best out of people.
I am currently located near Epsom, but will be available for tutoring near Hampstead from October.

I have a very personalised approach to tutoring where I aim to match my teaching style to the needs of the student. For example, I have worked with students with learning difficulties such as dyslexia and ADHD and therefore understand to adapt my teaching methods in order to suit the student. As someone who is dyslexic, I have a personal understanding of the challenges it can bring but can also see the advantages it gives a student. As a recent student, I can understand the challenges and the pressures of exams, therefore I aim for my lessons to be a confidence booster for the students which I believe to be a major help in exam performance. I am happy to help students with exam preparation, homework, and things such as revision timetables and organisation of revision as I understand that it can be daunting. I like to know in advance the topics that the student would like to cover in order to prepare a range of difficulties of questions to ease them into the topics but also challenge them once they gain some confidence and practice. I think it is important to revisit topics after some time therefore in the past have created small quizzes for the next lesson to revise the topics covered in the lesson before. I have most experience tutoring GCSE level but am happy to work with students for entrance exams such as 11+ and 13+, for end of year exams or GCSEs. I think the length of tutoring sessions should depend on the student as the concentration of each varies. However, I have a minimum lesson length of 1 hour.

Perfect! Hannah has supported my 15 year old son with his Maths now for 9 months and has had a hugely positive impact on both his understanding and confidence. He always looks forward to their lessons, even after a day's school. Hannah is incredibly patient and able to explain even the most tricky concepts, in a way that my son has been able to grasp. My son has an ADHD diagnosis and Hannah has been excellent at adapting the content of each session to match his focus levels, whilst keeping a close eye on progress. She has also helped him revise and cover content for upcoming mocks and GCSE exams. She is a very capable, organised, reliable and intelligent tutor with a very warm and down-to-earth manner. I would recommend her highly!
