About Benedict

I am a PhD candidate in Theoretical Physics with a strong academic background in mathematics and analytical problem-solving. My work in physics has trained me to think logically, structure complex ideas clearly, and approach challenging problems with precision — skills that I bring directly into my teaching.

I have experience supporting students at GCSE, A-Level, IB, and SAT level, helping them strengthen their understanding of mathematics and physics while improving their exam performance. I understand the pressure students face before major exams, and I aim to provide clear guidance, structured lessons, and a calm learning environment.

I am passionate about helping students realise that success in maths and physics is not about talent, but about method. With the right structure and consistent practice, every student can improve significantly.

My goal is to help students gain not only higher grades, but also confidence in their ability to think analytically and solve problems independently.

My teaching approach is structured, analytical, and exam-focused. As a PhD candidate in Theoretical Physics, I emphasise clarity of understanding, logical reasoning, and step-by-step problem-solving rather than memorisation. I help students build strong conceptual foundations first and then train them to apply that understanding effectively under exam conditions.

In my lessons, I focus on clear explanations of core concepts, breaking down complex topics into manageable logical steps. I use structured problem-solving frameworks and targeted practice with past-paper questions to ensure students understand not only how to solve a question, but why each step is necessary. Particular attention is given to mark scheme requirements, exam wording, and time management strategies so students can maximise their marks.

A typical lesson begins with a short review of previous material and clarification of any doubts. We then focus on a key topic or identified weak area, working through guided examples together before the student attempts exam-style questions independently. I provide immediate feedback, correct misconceptions, and summarise key techniques at the end of the session. Where appropriate, I assign targeted practice to reinforce progress.

What sets me apart is my strong academic background in physics and mathematics, combined with a calm and structured teaching style. I understand both the depth of the subject and the practical demands of examinations. My goal is not only to help students answer questions correctly, but to develop disciplined analytical thinking and confidence when approaching challenging problems.

I support students preparing for A-Level Physics and Mathematics (AQA, Edexcel, OCR), GCSE Maths and Physics, IB Mathematics and Physics (SL and HL), and SAT Maths (Quantitative Section). My lessons are designed for students aged 14–18 who are preparing for important examinations and aiming for high academic performance.
