About Boyan
Hey. It's great to meet you. I'm Boyan, and I will soon begin studying Geography at university having excelled in (and more importantly, enjoyed) the subject at A-Level. I've got considerable experience tutoring in both Geography and Mathematics, and it is such a pleasure to watch people grow in confidence and curiosity as they delve deeper into these topics. I want to spread this love of Geography far and wide - from migration to coasts, from alternative energy to inequality, the breadth of geography is so special and makes it a subject that I think everyone has a home in.

My techniques revolve around developing and nurturing intrinsic curiosity for geography, which in turn will enable engagement and provide results. I will guide through conversation with you, rather than talking AT you, helping you discover your own thoughts and where you sit regarding many of the more opinion-based sides of geography. In a subject so relevant to today's world, being able to relate to it personally (through experience and opinion) is what will then drive your passion and willingness to work hard, resulting in a grade you are happy with. Maybe you've experienced the effect of coastal flooding. Maybe you or a family member has moved in or out of an area experiencing gentrification. Maybe you've seen how your local area has become more diverse recently.
Although I was successful in, and hugely enjoyed, the A-Level as a whole, my favourite part was the coursework and I will happily assist you with that.
For the optional modules in the Edexcel A-Level course, I teach:
Coasts
Regenerating Places
Migration, Identity and Sovereignty
As someone I tutored summed up 'You help us figure it out for ourselves', and I think that is the best explanation of my approach, inspired by my time in Montessori education and subsequent study of her philosophy.
Together, we'll explore this vast, interconnected subject and nurture your intrinsic geographer. I hope you'll enjoy the A-Level every bit as much as I did, and that enjoyment is, I believe, the key to academic success.
I'm happy to tutor as a one off or for a set block of time - whatever you wish! My suggested lesson length is 1 hour but I can do longer lessons if you work better that way.
