About Tanisha
I have been teaching for 6+ years and have a masters degree in childhood education with an extension in bilingual education. My goal in teaching is to make learning as fun and interactive as possible. Growing up I was always a visual learner so with teaching I always incorporate google slides and activities where students can interact. I include pictures and lots of colors and even videos so students can visually see what needs to be done. I have taught 1st grade, 3rd grade, 4th grade and also 5th grade. I have also taught dual language classes (spanish). No matter the subject or grade learning should always be fun and with me you get just that!

My teaching methods and techniques involve making learning as fun and interactive as possible. I include interactive google slides with lots of pictures and colors in hopes of grabbing and keeping students attention. A typical lesson plan consists of a warm up activity followed by a mini lesson where I model a strategy and then we complete some problems together and then the student completes some on their own. I'm there 100% of the way, so if students get stuck or confused, I'm there and ready to guide them back on the right track. What sets me apart as a tutor is my passion. I have a 14 year old son who is my inspiration and motivation for teaching and my purpose. Having him and teaching him first hand inspired me to want to teach others. I believe children are our future and I take pride in knowing that I am helping kids prepare for a better future. I am able to teach grade levels 1-6 all subjects (reading, writing, math, science, social studies) as well as Spanish.
