About Rachel
Hi! I recently graduated from Brandeis University, where I studied psychology and education, and I have a teaching license for grades 1-6. I currently work as an instructional assistant, and I am looking to tutor part-time. I really love reading, using my creativity, and getting to know students. I'm looking forward to meeting you!

To start off our lessons, I would collaboratively create goals with a student to determine what areas and skills they want to work on. Additionally, I would ask to look at some of the work they've done in school to get a better sense of their strengths and areas for improvement. During our lessons, I would combine homework support and guided practice to form an individualized plan for the student. I am a very creative person, and I like to bring that into my tutoring and teaching, so guided practice may take the form of a game or I may try to connect concepts to student interests to increase engagement. These lessons are for students in grades K-8.
