About Courtney
Hi, I’m Ms. Reyna! I am a licensed educator with a degree in Elementary Education, a Special Education endorsement, and Montessori teacher training. My experience includes teaching students across elementary grade levels in special education, leading a Montessori classroom, and providing virtual one-on-one tutoring in reading and language arts.
Throughout my teaching career, I have worked with students with a wide range of abilities, learning styles, and academic needs. One of my favorite parts of teaching is finding the approach that helps something finally “click” for a student. I believe learning should be encouraging, engaging, and appropriately challenging—not something a child dreads.
I bring patience, creativity, organization, and genuine enthusiasm to my lessons. Most importantly, I want students to feel comfortable making mistakes, asking questions, and building confidence in themselves as learners.

My approach to tutoring is individualized, engaging, and focused on helping each student build confidence as they strengthen their literacy skills. I use a combination of direct instruction, guided practice, games, repetition, and hands-on activities to meet students where they are and keep lessons meaningful.
A typical lesson begins with a short review or warm-up, followed by focused instruction in the student’s area of need, such as phonics, reading fluency, comprehension, spelling, or writing. I then incorporate practice through interactive activities and end with a quick review of what we learned.
What sets me apart is my background in both Special Education and Montessori education. I am experienced in adapting instruction for different learning styles and skill levels rather than using a one-size-fits-all approach.
My lessons are best suited for elementary-aged students who need additional support or enrichment in reading, writing, phonics, and spelling.
