I take a practical, personalised approach to language teaching, focusing on helping students use the language confidently and effectively in real-life and professional situations. Rather than relying solely on textbooks, I adapt lessons to each student's goals, level and professional needs.
My lessons can include conversation practice, vocabulary development, grammar, pronunciation, professional correspondence, presentations, meetings, negotiations and role-play based on realistic workplace situations. For students interested in translation and interpreting, I also teach translation techniques, terminology management, accuracy, register, note-taking and interpreting practice.
I encourage students to actively use the language during lessons rather than simply memorising rules. I provide constructive feedback and gradually introduce more complex material as the student's confidence and ability develop.
A typical lesson is 60 minutes, although longer sessions can be arranged for intensive language practice, translation or interpreting training.
I have extensive professional experience working in English, Turkish and Russian, including translation and interpreting in professional and institutional settings. I have worked for many years as a Turkish–English–Russian translator and interpreter, including the translation of official, legal and administrative documents and interpreting for professional meetings and high-level institutional communication. I also hold the CIOL MCIL qualification and have experience teaching languages and supporting learners with their communication skills.
My lessons are suitable for adult learners, university students and professionals, from beginner to advanced level. They are particularly suitable for students who want to use English, Turkish or Russian for work, international communication, business, diplomacy, academic purposes, translation or interpreting.
I am happy to work with students who have a specific professional goal, such as preparing for meetings, interviews, presentations, written correspondence or working in a multilingual environment.
