About Pinckney
I was a professional teacher for 15 yrs (retired). I taught essentially all math and science subjects. I have been a professional computer software engineer. in my years of teaching in schools, I taught students from challenged (and under the supervision of the juvenile court) to gifted students in special school settings. I have also tutored students, both privately and in school. Please see my expanded credits (CV) below.

You (my tutoring student) will interact with me on-line. Depending on the need, we'll get you over the rough spots, and possibly get into some enrichment. I believe my skill as a teacher, and your talent as a learner, should not be too constrained by predetermined structure. I tend to be flexible and reactive to what the student is experiencing; navigating the subject matter as best to guide you. If you are in a school course with a textbook, we will address the topic from where you are in the course; but we may also go back to re-address things you may have missed. We will focus on acquisition of knowledge and understanding of basic principles. Practice is also important to make sure you can execute what you are learning. Finally, you must be able to defend your acquired knowledge in a questioning process after reviewing the material. These things are simply the essentials of learning.
