About Jenna
About Ms. Jenna
I was a first grade teacher in a New York City public school before becoming a reading specialist (ages 4-12). I received my Bachelor’s degree in Childhood and Special Education and a Master’s degree in Literacy from Teachers College at Columbia University. I am trained in Orton-Gillingham, which is specialized, explicit and multisensory approach to teaching reading and spelling through phonics based instruction.

Private Reading and Writing Classes
Is your child struggling to read or write? Do you want your child to learn to read and write in English? In my private sessions, I ensure that your child develops a strong foundation in phonics and will help them apply their phonetic knowledge to decode and encode words while reading and writing. I also teach children comprehension strategies to promote greater understanding of what they read so that they can discover the joy of reading!
My private classes are perfect for beginner and intermediate readers, ages 4-12. I tailor my instruction to meet each individual child’s needs, but most importantly, I strive to make learning fun and engaging for young children!
