About Lee-Anne
I became interested in literacy and the different ways to teach reading and spelling while working in a Learner Support role at a remedial primary school. I saw the huge impact that a lack of literacy skills could have - not only on academic performance, but also on confidence and self-esteem. The belief that every child is capable of learning to read fuelled my passion to study methodologies and resulted in starting my own reading therapy centre where I had the privilege of helping both children and adults master reading and spelling in English. I now work globally online, and look forward to helping many more students.

I bring a background of phoneme-based reading methodology training, Montessori training, ESL certification and an honours degree in psychology into my lessons. As such, I meet each child where they are and draw from a range of methodologies to create a personalised strategy for each child I work with. My lessons use picture coding, storytelling and visual and auditory aids to create strong sound-symbol relationships as a base for reading and spelling success. I believe in creating a relaxed learning environment that embraces a growth mindset.
