About S’özge
I have completed both my master's and bachelor's degrees in special education. Over the past 10 years, I have worked in inclusive and special education classrooms, as well as in private tutoring. I don't like boring classes, just like your children likely feel the same way. I like to design my classes with laughter and enjoyment without reducing my expectations of my students. I do encourage my students not to fall into the trap of low expectations of themselves, too.

I specialize in early childhood autism, language acquisition, and challenging behaviors. In my teaching with early childhood age, I rely on the Responsive Teaching (RT), Developmental Relationship-Based Approaches as intervention methods. During the intervention period, I guide parents on communicating and engaging with their children authentically and in diverse ways to increase child-family interaction for developing language and social skills. For challenging behavior, I do use functional behavioral support techniques based on Applied Behavioral Analysis (ABA), such as teaching functionally equivalent behavior, planned ignoring, and using natural consequences of the behavior. I do NOT use any type of punishment, and time-out from reinforcement in ANY of my teaching. I teach/support families in managing their behavior with or without using these techniques. My teaching approach incorporates play, songs, and stories, aligning with the children's interests and following their leads during play. For school-aged children, and if the child demands, I support both their academic and socio-emotional learning, supporting them to embrace their neurodivergencies and as authentic individuals in their classrooms.

I cannot say enough to recommend Özge as a Turkish tutor. She is an Education PhD student in Chicago. Özge is an expert in education for all ages. Anyone would be lucky to have her as a tutor. Özge is an expert in the field of education, and a native Turkish speaker, her English is amazing, trustworthy, and dynamic. She is helping my toddler with language development in Turkish. My two-year-old daughter loves Özge. My daughter is picking up Turkish so quickly through intentional play, repetition, and acting out vocabulary and language. I am also picking up some receptive language to help my daughter learn in between her weekly tutoring sessions with Özge. Özge is intelligent, compassionate, and filled with amazing resources to help facilitate language learning. You do not want to miss working with Özge.
Ozge has been tutoring our 13-year-old daughter, and she has been absolutely wonderful. With her strong teaching background and education degree, she brings both skill and professionalism to every lesson. She doesn’t just focus on dry language instruction — she also weaves in Turkish culture, history, and geography, which has been especially important to us as a Turkish family. We wanted our daughter to not only learn the language but also connect with her heritage, and Ozge has made that possible. She makes lessons engaging and meaningful, and our daughter truly enjoys learning from her. We highly recommend her!
