About Fuad
Hello, my name is Muhtasim Fuad Rafid. I am currently a Computer Science Master’s student at the University of Alberta and also working as a Graduate Teaching and Research Assistant for the past 1 year. Before that, I was a Software Engineer for 3 years working at an AI firm and I am proficient in Web and Cloud application development using different programming languages like Python, Java, Javascript.
As a Teaching Assistant, I have managed 2 courses - Practical Programming Methodology and Software Quality. I have taken lectures, conducted labs, marked assignments and guided students to solve problems. I have taught Data Structures, C++, Java, HTML, CSS and Docker to undergraduate students as a TA. I have also worked closely with the Professors of the courses in order to help them conduct the courses more efficiently. As a Software Engineer, I have taken training sessions for Junior Engineers on Software Quality and Version Control systems and evaluated their performance. Also during my undergraduate studies, I have tutored Math and Physics to high school and A-Level students. In summary, I have teaching experience in both academic and professional settings.

I believe teaching is a two-way experience and always learn something new when I am teaching my students. I believe in a more practical way of teaching, with examples, matching theory with real life to make the experience more interesting.
Typically, I start a lesson by trying to understand where a student is struggling. Once we figure out where the problem is, we focus on the issue and dig deep into the subject material. If I know the specific subject material beforehand, I will have materials ready to help with the lesson. I believe a student's time is very important it is vital to focus on the problem and solve it efficiently.
What sets me apart from other tutors is my mentoring and tutoring experience in both academia and industry. I am currently a Teaching assistant at the University of Alberta and previously have been a Software Engineer for 3 years. So, using my experience from both worlds I can design lessons that are partial and relatable.
I typically teach computer science to college students, but I also have experience teaching physics to high school students,
Recommendations

Fuad is a trusted person in my life to whom I could go and ask for solutions to most of my science based subjects and he would explain the topic to such depts which I wish my professors knew as well! He is a patient and caring teacher which stands out among many of his other qualities. What amazes me best is how easily he perceives any topic and his unique way of explaining them so thoroughly!
So, to anyone out there looking for a confident and compassionate teacher who teaches with ease I would recommend you to have him teach you. I'm sure you will have great results! It's my pleasure to strongly recommend Fuad! I had the pleasant opportunity to understand quite a few programming and mathematical concepts from him and it was not just his teaching skills that impressed me. He was a joy to work with because of his positive attitude and the ability to never give up really ensured that I learnt the concept thoroughly and with enjoyment!
I have been taught and helped by him several times with different subjects in college. He is absolutely amazing! And very reliable at helping with any sort of problem that comes up. I would most definitely recommend him to anyone who is looking for a great and easy to understand tutor for any particular lessons and solution in the fields he is knowledgeable in.
Fuad is a really good tutor, and goes through the subject material thoroughly. He makes the lessons practical and easy to understand. He has my highest recommendation as tutor!
