About Avika
Hi, I’m Avika Jain and I am a student at NTU majoring in pure economics. To start off with, a thing about me is that I care deeply about understanding things, and about doing something useful with that understanding. Most of my understanding is driven by asking questions- I ask way too many of them. My curiosity has drawn me to writing research papers, interning at think tanks and even writing a book.
The other part of me is accountability. In school, that meant stepping into leadership roles because I care deeply about making things work. Through my experiences I can say that I am a high agency individual with a fervor to solve problems.
What I find most fascinating, though, is people.
I love understanding their journeys, what shapes their beliefs, contradictions, and choices. Conversations, especially disagreements, are where I learn the most.
If I had to sum myself up: I ask why relentlessly, I take responsibility seriously, and once I commit, I follow through.
That is me.

My lessons are designed to make Economics feel interesting, practical, and easy to understand—not like another boring lecture! I focus strongly on building conceptual clarity, so students understand the why behind economic theories instead of simply memorizing definitions and diagrams. Every concept is connected to real-world examples, current events, interesting case studies, graphs, and everyday situations, making Economics much easier to relate to and remember. Lessons will be interactive and discussion-based, with plenty of questions and practical applications to encourage students to think like economists. I also adapt my teaching style to each student’s pace and learning needs, combining strong fundamentals, application-based learning, practice questions, and exam-focused guidance. My goal is for students to leave every lesson not only knowing the topic, but genuinely understanding how Economics works in the real world.
