About Jan
I'm 24 years old and a master's student at Leibniz Universität Hannover. I'm studying electrical engineering and information technology there with a focus on communications engineering. I am particularly enthusiastic about electrodynamics, signal processing and microelectronics. I did a 7.5 month internship at NXP Semiconductors in Eindhoven, Netherlands. I did my bachelor's degree with a grade of 1.4.
In my bachelor's degree, I was particularly outstanding in the mathematical subjects and received personal recommendations from my professors.
As a child I lived in England for 3 years and in Belgium for 3 years. Later on, I often visited my father in New York. As a child I skipped a class because I was very good at math.
Through my studies I am familiar with higher mathematics and its application. Mathematical understanding is fundamental to understanding, mastering and optimizing physical effects. Through my studies, I am also familiar with professional software for word processing and problem solving in the mathematical field. I also have programming skills.
I have already gained experience in tutoring students from the first semesters. Here I accompanied two students through the particularly demanding modules "Fundamentals of Electrical Engineering".
In addition to my studies, I work as a research assistant at the High Frequency Institute of the LUH.
My main hobby is fitness/bodybuilding. I exercise regularly and also have a fitness trainer license.

Personally, a deep understanding of mathematics and physics has helped me far more than memorizing “recipes”. I would therefore like to emphasize the importance and intuitive understanding in particular.
I speak very good German and English.
In addition to the classic school subjects, I am happy to help with modules such as signals and systems, systems theory, signal processing, basics of electrical engineering, network theory, field theory, theoretical electrical engineering (electrodynamics), high-frequency technology, analog electronics, semiconductor circuit technology and related lectures.
