About Adam
I am a recent Master’s graduate in Piano from the Royal Conservatoire of Brussels, studying in the class of the Belgian concert pianist Jan Michiels. Alongside performing, teaching is my greatest passion and I’ve been teaching piano for eight years now. Before moving to Brussels, I studied my Bachelors in Edinburgh and took part in Masterclasses at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, the Royal Northern College of Music, and the Talent Academy in Verona. I’ve gained invaluable insights from renowned pianists such as Fali Pavri, Graeme McNaught, Simon Coverdale, BingBing Li, Norma Fisher, Murray McLachlan, Craig Sheppard and Petras Geniusas. It’s my pleasure to pass these on. My upcoming PhD will focus on music education, with a particular focus on piano teaching.

I’m a passionate teacher who enjoys developing strategies to suit the needs and temperament of each individual student. One size does not fit all when it comes to music and the piano, and I derive a lot of satisfaction from passing on my knowledge and creating a path forwards for people who aspire to play the piano.

Adam’s enthusiasm for teaching and passion for the piano are an inspiration. Adam is a talented piano teacher who creates a positive learning environment that is friendly and non-judgmental. As an adult beginner, I particularly appreciate his thoughtful and flexible teaching approach that is tailored to my goals. Adam gradually introduces new skills without causing overwhelm, helps you to problem solve and overcome challenges, and celebrates even the smallest of achievements with you. I especially value Adam’s attention to detail for good technique and focus on my understanding of underlying principles, both in terms of music theory and practical application, thereby laying the essential foundations to advance my skills in future. It has been a joy taking piano lessons with Adam and I am delighted with my progress so far. I am excited to work with him to reach my next milestone and beyond.
Adam is a fantastic teacher – passionate not only about the instrument, but also about the art of teaching, which is a rare and wonderful combination. He has an intuitive sense of when to challenge you and when to ease off, and his lessons are always engaging and inspiring. You never feel judged or inadequate; instead, he creates an environment where you can relax, explore, and enjoy the music at your own pace. He’s very good at encouraging you to let go, bring out your playful side and just enjoy the music, no matter your level.
My son Tom has been taking piano lessons with Adam for almost eight years now and I couldn’t be more grateful for the positive influence he has had on him. Adam is a wonderful teacher, very engaging, patient and kind. Adam encourages pupils to be involved in their musical choices, not sticking rigidly to a curriculum, which I feel has really helped keep up Tom’s enthusiasm for learning. Adam connected with Tom from a young age and has really nurtured his skills and confidence. Adam was recommended to us by a friend originally and I feel so fortunate Tom has had his guidance over the years and kept his love for music alive. At fourteen years old Tom is playing pieces at a grade eight standard and is actually wanting to practice which is testament to the amazing teacher Adam is. Couldn’t recommend him highly enough
