About Abby
I am currently working on my Master's degree in English Education. I have a Bachelors in Linguistics, so I am very comfortable with language and grammar. I have tutored high school students in the past, and I have a professional background in writing.
I fundamentally believe every student is capable of succeeding, and I will use my skills as an educator and writer to ensure my students are given the right support and skills to excel in the classroom and beyond!

I believe in students taking learning into their own hands, so my approach is to guide students how to engage critical thinking skills to find the answer rather than telling them directly. While memorization can be helpful, students tend to push that information out for new information, so I want students to be able to internalize the information so they can take their skills with them into the future.
I specialize in working with students in middle school and high school, and each lesson will be unique to the student and the skills they want to improve. I can help with homework, college essays, PSAT/SAT/ACT prep, or building reading and writing skills.

Abby has loved reading from a young age. In fact, she was above her grade level in English from K-12. Her excitement with reading led her to finish the Harry Potter series of books before her friends and classmates. She excelled in spelling as she has an excellent memory and knack for remembering the rules of grammar. She loves writing creatively and professionally. Her interests, aside from English, include linguistics, the French language and history, Comicon, and anything to do with cats. Her passion for teaching English is tantamount to her success.
