About Pedro
Through my experiences as a math tutor for refugee children, a python instructor aide for a nonprofit focused on bringing women in computer science, and transferring to Princeton from my local community college, I've worked with a great range of students. Furthermore, through my research experiences and my own personal math blog, I have strengthened my math communication skills in the aim of making this great subject as accessible as possible.

I recently got my bachelor's degree in mathematics from Princeton University and I would be thrilled to help people understand areas of a discipline I sincerely love. In doing so, patience, understanding, and enjoyment would always be top of mind. I am available to discuss calculus up to differential equations, linear algebra, and abstract algebra. Please feel free to message me for any questions, like if I am able to tutor math areas outside of what I've mentioned. For instance, I am happy to cover statistics/probability, algebra, trigonometry, and more. I passionately aim to follow the axioms (fundamental rules) of Federico Ardila, a mathematician at San Francisco State University, which are below.
Axiom 1. Mathematical potential is equally present in different groups, irrespective of geographic, demographic, and economic boundaries.
Axiom 2. Everyone can have joyful, meaningful, and empowering mathematical experiences.
Axiom 3. Mathematics is a powerful, malleable tool that can be shaped and used differently by various communities to serve their needs.
Axiom 4. Every student deserves to be treated with dignity and respect.

As someone who has been friends with Pedro for 10+ years, I can confidently attest to his admirable work ethic, eternal patience, and genuine kindness. He can often lose himself in the process of describing a mathematical concept which he has been studying, as he truly embodies the idea of a lifelong learner. His unbridled passion and perpetual curiosity are staples of his personality. I have no doubt in my mind that he will do everything within his power to ensure the success of his students. I would especially recommend Pedro to any student who may not be super interested in math or may feel burdened by academic obligations/expectations because I can guarantee that he will cultivate a safe space for students to discover the joy of learning rather than focus solely on achieving a perfect test score or GPA. He makes learning as fruitful and enjoyable as it should always be.
