About Jaia

I am in the top of my class, and math has always been my star subject.

This was my AP Calculus teacher's response when asked to reflect on my character: "Jaia was always very generous with her time helping her classmates. I found her work-ethic and integrity incomparable"

Not only has math brought light to my life, but I have found joy in bringing it to my peers as well. It hasn't always been this way though. As an elementary school kid, I struggled with feeling unsure about my math skills, which led me to gaining outside of school help. With that advancement, my confidence improved and I was able to find the success in math I have today. I would love nothing more than to spread that feeling of ability.

About the lesson

Efficient personalized teaching helps learners bridge the gaps that they are missing in their current knowledge as well as connect them to their next stage of learning. My steps are as follows, each tailored to the individual student's needs and comfort level.

- Identifying areas of improvement
- Direct teaching through the "I do, then we do, then you do" method of supported learning
- Practice problems with old topics cumulatively added to ensure full concept retention and enforce spaced repetition

Through my recent experience in high school level math, I am able to connect with what explanations make sense to new learners and where things need to be explained more. My passion for math helps me bring the joy that comes with increased understanding of these topics to other primary and secondary school students.

Jaia and I had both pre calculus and calculus I together, and she was incredibly helpful throughout both courses! Anytime I had a question about math, she was there to answer it for me. She is incredibly knowledgeable and conveys information in a way that is easily understood and ideal for a confused math student.

Jaia is the best math tutor! She is extremely knowledgeable in every aspect of math and can explain even the most difficult concepts with ease. When helping me with math, she always made sure that I thoroughly knew not just the problem at hand but the different concepts within that particular problem. One of her best aspects is that she is very patient and encouraging. I never felt like any of my questions were too dumb or as if understanding was hopeless. If you are in need of a math tutor, Jaia should definitely be your top pick for any subject within math.
