About Leah
My passion for Mathematics grew from a fascination with patterns, logical reasoning, and problem-solving. I pursued an M.Ed in Mathematics Education to combine advanced mathematical knowledge with effective teaching strategies. Over the past 11 years, I have guided students across elementary school math, middle school math, SAT math preparation, and early Calculus, helping them transition from uncertainty to confidence through patient and consistent instruction. I approach teaching with careful observation and adaptability. I take time to understand how each student processes information and adjust explanations accordingly. I utilize visual aids, step-by-step reasoning, and real-world examples to make abstract concepts more approachable. I emphasize that mistakes are natural and valuable, helping students develop a resilient and positive approach to learning. Beyond the classroom, I remain actively engaged in mathematics through continued study, curriculum development, and problem-solving practice. Teaching Math is deeply fulfilling because I witness students grow in clarity, independence, and self-confidence. Helping learners trust their reasoning and realize their potential is the most rewarding part of my work.

Mathematics becomes far more approachable when lessons focus on understanding concepts rather than rote memorization. My lessons include elementary school math, middle school math, geometry, algebra, SAT math, and Calculus, all delivered in a clear, structured, and encouraging manner. I guide learners through the relationships between ideas, enabling them to approach problems calmly and confidently. Lessons emphasize comprehension, step-by-step reasoning, and gradual reinforcement to build strong conceptual foundations.
Lesson design is tailored to the student’s level. Elementary school math emphasizes number sense, arithmetic, and basic problem interpretation. Middle school math introduces geometry, proportional reasoning, and early algebra concepts. Advanced learners work on algebraic manipulation, SAT math strategies, and introductory Calculus concepts, with attention to logical flow and exam preparedness. Practice activities are included thoughtfully to support understanding without creating stress.
Maths lessons also help students build patience, concentration, and problem-solving resilience. As learners gain clarity, they become more independent in tackling unfamiliar challenges. Many students begin to view mathematics as structured, logical, and achievable. My goal is to help learners feel confident, capable, and motivated to excel in all mathematical areas.
