About Amani
I hold a BS in Mathematics, which I completed in just 2.5 years — I started early by earning my associate's degree while still in high school. That accelerated path gave me a head start on diving deep into the math I love. It taught me something I carry into every tutoring session: the value of clear, efficient, and intentional learning.
During my time in school, I was named to the President's List and received the Actuarial Student of the Year Award. These recognitions reflect not just strong grades, but a real passion for mathematical thinking and problem-solving — the kind I work to build in every student I tutor.
My approach blends the rigor of my math background with a practical, patient teaching style. I know what it's like to push through challenging material, and I use that experience to help students find their own path to understanding — whether they're catching up, keeping pace, or getting ahead.

My goal is to help students truly get math — not just memorize steps, but understand the why behind each concept so everything clicks. I structure lessons to do two things at once: reinforce what they're learning in class and get them comfortable with material just ahead of the curve. That way, schoolwork feels familiar and the next topic doesn't catch them off guard.
Each session starts with a clear overview of the topic, then moves into lots of worked examples. I believe you can't really understand a concept until you've seen it from a few different angles, so we work through problems together — building pattern recognition along the way. Over time, students start to spot the underlying structure in complex problems, which is the real skill that carries them through higher-level math.
Whether we're reviewing last week's homework or previewing next month's unit, the focus is always on depth, confidence, and making connections that stick.
