About Sera
I have 8 years of experience teaching mathematics to learners from high school to university preparation programmes. I hold a B.Sc in Applied Mathematics and an M.Sc in Computational Mathematics, providing expertise in both theoretical concepts and practical applications. This foundation allows me to make mathematics engaging and approachable for all learners.
My teaching philosophy emphasises clarity, structured guidance, and interactive exploration. Lessons combine visual aids, problem-solving exercises, and real-life applications to help students build confidence and mastery. I encourage learners to ask questions, experiment, and develop independent reasoning skills.
Outside teaching, I engage with research in applied mathematics, modelling, and data analysis to keep lessons current and relevant. Watching students transform from hesitant learners into confident problem-solvers is incredibly rewarding. Supporting learners to excel academically while fostering analytical thinking and curiosity is the most fulfilling part of my work.

Mathematics becomes meaningful when learners connect abstract concepts to practical problem-solving. My lessons cover algebra, calculus, geometry, probability, statistics, and applied mathematics techniques. I emphasise conceptual understanding over rote memorisation, using visualisations, real-world examples, and interactive exercises. Each lesson is structured to build analytical thinking, confidence, and curiosity, allowing learners to explore ideas with guidance and support.
Lesson structure adapts to the student’s proficiency. Beginners focus on fundamental arithmetic, algebra, and basic problem-solving. Intermediate learners study calculus concepts, geometric constructions, and probability models. Advanced learners engage with applied mathematics, data analysis, and complex problem-solving techniques. Each session integrates exercises, conceptual discussions, and examples to reinforce understanding and mastery.
Maths lessons also develop logical reasoning, analytical skills, and perseverance. Students learn to approach problems methodically, reason abstractly, and apply mathematical concepts to diverse scenarios. My goal is to help learners become confident, independent thinkers capable of approaching challenges creatively and systematically while cultivating a deep appreciation for mathematics.
