About Eliza

I have ten years of experience teaching Math across Years 7–12 at Doncaster Secondary College, Brunswick Secondary College, and Lowther Hall, including time as Head of the Math Faculty at both Doncaster and Brunswick. I achieved a 99.30 ATAR and have a strong background in supporting students across a wide range of abilities. Over the last few years, tutoring has become the part of my work that I value most. Working one-on-one has allowed me to understand each student’s goals, strengths, and challenges in a way that classroom teaching rarely makes possible. I enjoy being able to slow down when a student needs clarity, move ahead when they’re ready for a challenge, and structure sessions around what will genuinely help them progress.

I am currently studying a Master of Speech Pathology at the University of Melbourne. Seeing students build confidence and experience “I can do this” moments is what ultimately inspired me to pursue speech pathology. This interest grew as I realized how much I enjoy targeted, individual support, meeting learners exactly where they are and helping them move forward with evidence-based strategies. Speech pathology brings together the aspects of teaching I find most meaningful: working closely with individuals, problem-solving, and supporting communication and learning.

I specialize in supporting neurodivergent students and take the time to understand their learning profiles. I’ve worked with students who move far ahead of the class pace and with those who find math overwhelming. My focus is always on building confidence, clarity, and self-belief. Outside of tutoring, I play football and netball, and I love cats.

How sessions are structured
I am happy to take the lead with younger students and provide a clear, structured plan for how we use the time. With older students, I offer more agency and work collaboratively to decide what will be most useful each week, whether that’s review, extension, exam practice, or study planning.
