About Nichita
I've been tutoring since Year 12 for students my year and the year above, primarily in statistics and mechanics but I've always placed an emphasis on a good logic and pure maths foundation. Some of my best students have gone from A's and B's to 95-100ums papers, and others have gone from D's and E's to strong B's. I can teach students of varying levels of ability, all the way from primary school to A-Levels.

Exam success comes down to two layers: understanding and polishing. While most tutors focus all of their time on the base layer, they overlook the fundamental element of preparing their students for what's actually important to them -- applying their knowledge. I tend to offer a very simplistic skeleton introduction of the topic before diving into the specifics with my students. Tailoring the lesson to the exam board specification, I then fill in the details of, say, Newton's laws of motion through discussion rather than presentation. Once I feel that the student has developed an understanding, we proceed to exam questions where they learn most of the application skills, as we tackle the problems together.

After not doing too well in a mock exam at Easter I asked Nichita to tutor me in maths, we worked through various topics such as calculus and exponentials, and in the end I scored 97UMS in my summer C4 exam.
